Doubt Senryu

fickle flickering
of a feeble candle flame-
my resolve wavers

LOVE IT BUT WAIT... is this one officially Haiku? Syllables of 5-7-5 and about something in nature? Then maybe that is the Doubt in the Senryu? Ha ha! IDK I’m always asking is it Senryu or Haiku and maybe that question should be asked under both (except how to pose that via nature for Haiku). Geesh ... This was perfect in how resolve can be. It is also typical of nature between states.

Hi Edlynn...yours, as usual, is a very pleasant visit :) Thank you! // Humour apart, this would be accepted as both senryu and haiku, while the 5-7-5 requirement has long lost its appeal. ~ Regards // paul
