Double Standard

Political poems, political belief. Either one side or the other. War rages on with no relief. Do we have to attack another? A double standard applies, in regards to political views. When did beliefs, become lies? What happened to the right to choose? Our past president, brutalized everyday. His supporters were maligned. Don't attack the current president that way. You may find yourself reassigned. One party accuses the other party, of corruption and misdeeds. Their agenda thought dirty, for the contempt it breeds. Who is right, who is wrong? We don't know, just think we do. Our opinions can be strong, but consider another's point of view. Expressing what you believe in, is what poetry is all about. Not an avenue to begin, using verse to scream and shout.

Hi Sandy. Great poem. The hypocrisy drives me crazy and the lies that I write about are in regards to people in the administration who are proven to be lying to us and our mainstream media too.! I hope all is well :)

If is hard not to become intense when things appear to be turned around to fit the argument. Facts are facts, at least they should be. Thank you Heidi.

Well written, but one must consider 63% of Republicans insist the GOP should not support any Republican who disparages Trump. What child could become a reasonable human being without criticism?

It is more about the mentality of all of the players. Parties, politicians, anger, hatred. It has gone too far. I never thought this country would be be floundering with so much uncertainty. I get it Rico, Thank you.

It's all about respecting another's opinion. We may not agree with it, but for goodness sake... there's no need for nasty name calling and contemptible disdain. Loved your third stanza, Sandra, but too many are blind to his faults. Well done!

Always a hot topic, but it has taken on so much emotion the past few years. Some things better left unsaid. Thank you, Jenna for your kind comment.

Sandra, your poem is well-written and well-taken. I particularly liked the next to the last verse: "Who is right, Who is wrong?...consider another's point of view." But, I do believe there are some elements out there that are so outrageous we simply cannot condone them.

Thank you for gracious comment, Milton. Some are outrageous, you are right, but will you change that person's mind?
