Double Rainbow

in the pale sunshine of a
double rainbow afternoon
giant flowers stand quite still
vividly lovely

radiance from sky to ground
in its rapturous escape
silver moon is calling me
I'm dragging my feet

Ray Charles does an excellent rendition - as does Judy Garland, of course - but my all time fav is any of Patti Labelle's renditions, each and every performance of her Over The Rainbow is a masterpiece. I have listened to the 1966 version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, by Patti Labelle and the Bluebelles, and I was rapt at this beautiful rendering of the song. Thank you for telling me about it.
