Dot To Dot
Listen to poem:
See the sea of dots
floating like gulls
bobbing in the rocking waves on the page.
Gather them up,
like stitches in knitting dropped
realigned, re-assembled on needles.
Follow the pattern,
join the dots,
craft the outline
to bring the image
into focus.
As you proceed,
dot to dot,
line to line,
filling in the gaps,
the image will be revealed
like the black and white image
that comes into focus and is revealed
in the developer tank,
in the safe red light,
in the photographer's darkroom.
The outcome is predestined
dot to dot
on destiny's stage.
