Notes About The Poem

Doomed To Catastrophe

Her poor broken heart now lies in rubble.
She done hooked up with another bad boy.
Ignored warning, "keep away, he's trouble!"
     The womanizer played her like a toy.
 How funny, her name happens to be "Joy"
   Friends often wear disapproving faces,
 For she looks for love in the wrong places.
     Catastrophe dealt a withering blow;
  Her bleeding heart leaves obvious traces.
  A relationship doomed from the word "go"

Edward, your words strike to the heart of brokenness that continues to repeat itself in relationships that strip away the dignity of a soul named "Joy!" Time to break that mold!! Well written. Congrats and high fives wrapped up in blessings my friend.

We see this all around, often. No one listens, Edward … the only hope for her is quick recovery from abandonment. Great write, enjoyed, congrats on your win!

Well done Edward in this hard (for me) to execute form. You give voice to travails of broken relationships. Some are attracted to trouble makers. What glitters isn't always gold. It was doomed from the start as you so well illustrate.

"Some are attracted to trouble makers"...yep, some women love bad boys, it's rather unfortunate. Thank you very much for the wonderful feedback and visit, Vijay:-)

A situation you often hear about Edward, as the saying goes, love is blind. Tom
