Don'T You Hate When This Happens

You research choices thoroughly
  until your eyes dim blurrily

The issues you're so familiar with
you know them like your kin and kith

You review the votes each candidate casts
project their futures from their past

There's nothing that you fail to cover
over daily papers you fairly hover

You mark your ballot painstakingly
then forget to mail it, carelessly

Hello Gershon … the time is nigh. I hope for you US citizens that the result is taken gracefully. Here in Aus, voting is compulsory or a fine is issued - thank you Gershon - Lindsay

Sure hope it's peaceful here. U.S. is becoming more like a banana republic every week, it seems. Thanks, Lindsay. :) gw

Oh no! Did that happen to you? You can still vote. Oh boy!

Ha, ha! I voted early in person. Safer than voting by mail if you ask me. Who knows what diseases lurk on those public mailboxes?! lol. :)

Oh, man, that would burn me. In Kansas we can log into a website to see if your mail in ballots have arrived AND see if they have been tabulated. My husband and I have checked, and the website says yes and yes. Not sure I trust this though. The state is run by the OTHER party.

No kidding. --- The 'Other Party?' Whigs or Tories? Or maybe the 'Green Party.' Good luck! :)

Yeah. Sounds like something I'd do. That's why I wrote it, I guess. (Voted early in person, though). :)

More probably, mailmen will be found who sandbag ballots... They've already found one who dumped a sack of ballots into a dumpster... Some election; some democracy... :) gw
