Don'T Waste Your Purple Nights

this poem is somehow dedicated to a little
lady dog Charlotte

I wrote it on the beach
whilst picking up little
stones shells and snails

I was at peace with
me and the world

for a couple of hours
I set myself free of looking for
a job
and the insignificant thoughts of
how to pay the rent

So yeah
Dave
poetry is God

all in all

If poetry is your god how will she find you a job and put a roof over your head???

Hi Che! In free verse you express yourself simply and clearly; even so you leave space for the reader to work out some things for himself. Your connection with nature is a positive one; you find peace while discarding the little material things that we often worry about unnecessarily. I take it that the reference to 'Dave' is self-addressed. All the best. // paul
