Don'T Tell Me No Lies



Don't tell me you love me, when you've done 
something wrong. Don't tell me you love me,
when you have broken my heart.

Don't tll me no stories, don't tell me no lies.
Don't tell me you'll change, that things will
be right - for when something is broken - you
can't make it right.

Don't try the sweet talk. It's not going to work.
I've been through that road, so many a time
before. The sweet talk is nothing, but a way to
tell lies, with a touch of sweetness, but they
are still lies. I'm begging you - don't even try...

i read about the lies, here Lucilla, but it is the second line on the 3rd stanza, that gets to me, that anyone should have to walk down that road. love this profound and sincere poem of yours.....

Dear Lucy, I'm hearing you and feeling you out loud... I wish from the beginning of time. Lying was never invented... but..you know some times people think we want or need to be lied to... I truly do not know what hurts more the lie or the truth.... cover your ears... wink...love your poem... I know you had enough...lovepd

GOOD one on telling lies, Lucilla. That sweet talk will get them nowhere with you!! yes, it has snowed already in Utah. that's what inspired my roses poem. t hanks for your comment on it!
