Don'T Release Me

Don’t release me I beg My fingers laced, locked, ‘round that part— That portion that still believes Don’t forget I plead The times you felt my soul, And the truths that you could see Please, Don’t release me I beg I drown in the chopping waves of your words I suffocate in your silence The oceans deafening distance devastates me And your uncertainty turns like violence Time is my stumbling ally Confusion my foe Please don’t release me Because I can’t let you go.

Reads almost like an antipode to Engelbert Humperdinck's hit song "Release Me". Nevertheless, I liked it.
