Don’t love more

O sweet, love no more than this,
for love does not stay forever;
as the sun sinks down at twilight,
and dusk veils the silent world.

O sweet, love no more than this,
for love fades with the breath of being,
as fire softens into smoke
and climbs the quiet stairs of heaven.
