Don't burst my balloon
By raining on my parade
By saying, "It isn't so"
By loving me and leaving me
Don't burst my balloon
By pretending to be my friend
By saying, "It's not my fault"
By judging me, but not loving me
Don't burst my balloon
By trying to change me
By sailing into thin air
By lying to me
Don't burst my balloon
By leaving me out in the cold
By leaving me out in the rain
By saying, "Everything's changed'
Don't burst my balloon
By calling me a buffoon
By calling me a fool
By changing all the rules
Don't burst my balloon
By looking at me so strangely
By frowning, fussing, and fighting
By running away from the truth
