don't be tool of the fool

don`t be tools of the fool to the one
who wants to see the fires burn
                                                          wild

so they march and chant words to widen the divide
    the majority hear you
                                            the majority see you

and see the hypocrisy in your words

you have the right to show your colours
            and the right to chant
as you march along your chosen path

the road to freedom was paved with sacrifice

let your culture run through your veins
and be proud of who you are
but don`t let it be one of disdain

contempt is the killer of respect

history pages once smoked and burned
so let`s not forget about yesterday
and just see it as
                     that was then
                                     and this is now

let the sins of the past stay in the past

you hold tomorrows future in your hands
don`t let it be one with regret
and just say
              it could have been worst
                               it could have been better

your ancestors may once lived in chains
but now the links have been splintered
         but not yet fully broken

don`t be the ones to bind them up again

so take it easy on the rhetoric
and don`t bite the hand that feeds
`cause there`s more to be done

just remember
today is a lot better than yesterday
