Dominoes Falling

Dominoes Falling

I wake as the rain greets me on
the face
To realize you wept until your
bliss was drained
From edges of lips well licked
Lies the deepest desires that
Brought
Two broken souls to a Valley
long forgotten

Scream now, my dear, for this
we live for,
Each cut thrusting us towards
divinity’s floors
As this rush has us walking on
all fours,
And we realize that we are
Broken and Flawed
Left with these sharp edges to
only draw blood

Our story ended before it took
flight
Its future never to see the light,
Wasting time on each other
For a fantasy called “forever”
As forever ends with no caution

Congratulations on a great win... This one seems to have some of the same emotional core as "Domino Vows," a poem found in my portfolio.... Great writing, Ronny......Jake
