Domestic Bliss

Twilights in my kitchen without me even wishing. Dusk dances thru the house, twirls and swirls about. Soft as any pillow, colors filter in. They grace every window, smiling now and then. It gives me pause to say exactly why My home feels the cause of both earth and sky. It is never easy to explain jubilant bliss, But my own attempt would read like this:
It is the color of harmony from loving my life, From joy in all I see, that brings this mood to me. Like a soft breeze teasing your skin, It is the freedom of not missing what has already been. It is comfort without reaching, security before needing. It is people hugging and holding, hearts tugging and molding. It is the presence of loved ones even when in a different room, And knowing your family is both your sun and moon.

Thanks Sweetie! Wrote this in my mid-30s while married to Kyle's Daddy. I'm glad the poem was given a chance to see daylight via the contest! Thank you, Connie, for FAVing - I don't know how I'd fare here without your sweetness. Miss ya. Love ... CayCay

this is SO lovely, CayCay. Shows that deep sensitive heart of yours. Sun and Moon. That is what family should be for everyone. Thanks for the soupmail. I can't even remember if I answered it because I was rushing to get out of work today and now I am rushing to get back upstairs. Couldn't finish my comments from work, but now I have only a few left to go. Also I want to read one more of your poems!!!
