Translation :  Dolce Far Niente (Italian)  Sweet Doing Nothing  (English)

. I sit by the edge of the pool just gazing. The water, nothing but blue. Just deeply lazing. With nothing to do. Staring at the sparkle. Kind of thinking of you. Makes it such a debacle. Suddenly then in a flash or two. An idle sweetness filled the air. I realized I wasn’t there. Where I sat was an empty chair. Seems life had passed me by. I had done, Nothing to try. Now I say. Just Today. Lazy Doesn’t Pay.

Wow, this poem is absolutely breathtaking. The way it is written in the shape of a question mark is a brilliant display of your skill with words, SV. The metaphors used depict a yearning for a peaceful and leisurely existence. The concluding lines, with their captivating metaphors, take the reader by surprise as they depict life swiftly moving forward, leaving behind only an empty chair. This poem is truly enchanting and a testament to your great talent. Well done, SV.

In my younger day my ambition was always "to be bored" I could not even imagine what that must be like. 3 children with less than 5 years between them, doing the books for my husband's business, visiting elderly parents 3 times a week, and once the children were school age, I was working full time (even being president of the P & C at their school. ) Now I am retired I still need an extra few hours a day to fit everything in! I am yet to be bored. Being idle I believe allows life to pass you by. Thanks for your welcomed comment my dear friend.
