Does She Know

DOES SHE KNOW YOUR FAVORITE COLOR
OR WHEN YOU GREW UP WHAT YOU WANTED TO BE
DOES SHE KNOW HOW YOU LIKE TO SMELL
OR THE PLACES YOU WANT TO SEE
DOES SHE KNOW WHAT YOUD RATHER DO
WHEN YOU COME HOME ACHING AND SORE
DOES SHE KNOW YOUR STANCE ON LIFE
HOW YOU HATE CONFLICT AND WAR
DOES SHE KNOW WHAT YOU LIKE TO WATCH OR READ
OR DOES SHE KNOW YOUR FAVORITE FOOD
DOES SHE KNOW HOW TO MAKE YOU HAPPY
WHEN YOUR SICK OR IN A BAD MOOD
DOES SHE KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT YOURSELF
YOUR INSECURITIES AND FEARS
HAS SHE SEEN THE SCARS
HAS SHE WIPED YOUR TEARS
DOES SHE KNOW YOU ARE EVERYTHING I BELIEVE IN
ALL THE BEAUTY AND COMPASSION IN THE WORLD I SEE
DOES SHE KNOW WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR
WHEN YOU SAY YOU WANT TO BE HAPPY

DOES SHE KNOW THAT YOUR KISSES USED TO BE MINE
DOES SHE KNOW THOSE I LOVE YOUS BELONGED TO ME
DOES SHE KNOW THE SOLACE THAT I BROUGHT YOU
WHEN I GENTLY STROKED YOUR HAIR WHILE YOU WERE ASLEEP
DOES SHE KNOW YOU WOULD HOLD MY HAND IN BED
OR THE PASSION BEHIND YOUR EYES
DOES SHE KNOW THE DEPTH YOU HAVE
ALL THE EMOTIONS YOU CHOOSE TO HIDE
DOES SHE KNOW THE THINGS THAT TURN YOU ON
LIKE WHISPERING IN YOUR EAR
TRACING THE OUTLINE OF YOUR JAW WITH MY LIPS
OR GAZING INTO YOUR EYES IGNORING YOUR FEELINGS OF
INADEQUACY AND FEAR

DOES SHE KNOW THAT MY HANDS SHAKE
AND THAT I TOO HAVE SCARS
DOES SHE KNOW MY BODYS WEAK
THAT I AM PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY STARVED
DOES SHE KNOW MY KNEES TREMBLE
OR THAT MY HEART BREAKS
WHENEVER I HEAR YOUR NAME
OR EVERYTIME I SEE YOUR FACE
DOES SHE KNOW I'D DO IT ALL AGAIN
EVEN IF THE OUTCOME REMAINED THE SAME
EVEN IF I KNEW THE WHOLE TIME
AGAIN I'D PLAY THIS GAME
KNOWING I WOULD LOSE
I WOULD RELIVE THE AGONY OF DEFEAT
BECAUSE IN THAT TIME YOU LOVED ME
I'D NEVER FELT MORE ALIVE, I'D NEVER FELT MORE FREE

Damn your Heart is Heavy, but I like it, such passion, such longing...willing to play out the same situation knowing what the outcome would be, living that pain all over again...Wow you did good here, I write love and romance but you got this one, my hat is off to you here -Bravo! Favorite poem list for sure! MC

Love can bare the heavy hearted task of lifting up your wounded wings again to fly. For love is not something you are given nor something that you give; But love is what you are.It is The eternal Bliss of being and the sharing of life that gives us joy. You will love again if you follow your bliss. If you let your pain pass and know you are better for it. love you first.

wow...it is a good feeling to feel and be alive... I'm hoping you are over the person who gave all them emotions of you to someone else. this is a very good poem, and I will add this poem to my favorite list. and so far I am loving the depth and personal emotions in your poem. I wish I could write my emotions like this. Instead I go to far deep, into many many metaphors. always~ LINDA
