Notes About The Poem

Do U Dui

Do U…
Yes, you do!

Celebrate with friends.
Drinking laughing,
and telling jokes.
all is well.

Merry Christmas,
Happy New Year,
I pray you see the first day,
and not your last.

It controls us,
now.
It always did,
We were just not aware,
that when we agreed,
in the beginning,
that we would ever,
be made or held
accountable…
to the end.

Don’t let someone die,
because you got high.
Don’t let someone die,
So you could drink.
Don’t let someone you love,
do something they will
never forget,
and hate you for…
in the morning.

This year,
kiss and hug…
laugh and sing,
go home,
and watch the parade,
first thing…

Roses are beautiful,
and God Loves YOU!

good reminder. Nowadays, the accessibility of Uber and Lyft leave no excuses to drink and drive :)

A wonderful write Ann, full of meaning, I wrote a similar one called Four gone conclusion,,one of my first writes here, after the tragic news of 4 dead killed by a drunk driver just north of Toronto. He (the killer) got ten years in prison, won't bring back grandparents and kids!

A mistake that lasts forever,. it can only be forgiven... and that is hard, that is why it takes God. Yes,... killer... murderer... so sad... My cousin and his brother, never knew their mom, she was killed when they were days old. Hugs and prayers. Ann

I do not drink, but when I was younger... I did. It appeals most to you then. Sadly... that is when you are not the wisest... lol... God Bless your days... all of them... Ann
