Do I Even Know Me

Do I even know me
Or how to be he
Lost in myself
I've put on a shelf

I do not feel free
For me to be me
If I am who I am
Do I act like a ham

Should I ball it all up
Inside parts of me
Or act like a pup
And run around free

Un-abandonded but alone
And chilled to the bone
I search for the light
Avoiding the fight

You see I am gone
But really right here
My light it has shone
Through even my fear

Finding myself is really a task
Needing of love for in it to bask
I'll see you again on the right side of town
Really my friends I'm not fooling around

I've felt this way but like you've said "My light it has shone through even my fear". Our impulses ARE a part of us. No matter what, who we are WILL shine through naturally. It's just understanding ourselves, "finding myself is really a task". Perfectly said <3
