Dna
Life under a microscope dissected piece by piece
peering into cells with x-ray eyes and brain scans
of behavior set in DNA Strands spreading out like veins in disease
contagious in toxic virus attacking the system without supervision
watching for failure of shallow breath heaving mental illness
into the bloodstream tainting its strength to fight off bacteria
that congests the lungs closing off arteries to the heart
trying to beat on with life keeping stability in a world full of doubt
