Distinguished Honors

Pall bearers in uniforms, tall and erect, Taps resonating; eerie, their profound lament. Freedom lay in your skilled hands, Troops skirmishing in open fields; brothers, a band Defend and protect was the charge that day, Bloody the battle that took your life away. A casket draped in red, white and blue; Hands over grieving hearts, in honor of you. Cannons and rifles, a ceremonial salute, An act of pride and dignity resolute. January 29, 2017

A somber dirge like poem written in awesome poetic style in fine rhyme. Described in elegant wording, like your word choice here. Kudos. Pls do review my latest poem too.

An evocative, soul-stirring poem, Paulette. I agree w/Jan, vividly descriptive. A somber poem w/much emotional strength. If you get a chance, read my poem, "Double Tap." I think you would appreciate it because it would appeal to your sense of honor and duty. Love this poem though. Much love to you always.

Hi Jan, I agree, the deep tragedy that continues to bring down our young men and women who give their lives for freedom is heart wrenching. Thanks for your always encouraging comments.
