Distant Views

When I stand on the back hill, I can see through the trees
To the mountains in the distance
I can feel like I am on top of the world,
As I view the beauty that lies before me
The skyline in each direction offers sunrises and sunsets
Never to be forgotten
Each season offers new sights, revolving through my world
It is quiet here, bringing a special serenity
But offers sounds from nature when the birds sing,
The Turkey gobble or chipmunk chirp across the stone wall
Now, the blue sky emerges after a rainy day,
Decorated with white stripes of clouds
And the gray slowly leaves, relief behind

Another lovely poem emanating from your hues of nature. The sights and sounds you captured sketch a scenic painting--excellent write, Heidi. I am saving it in my FAVES.
