Distant Shores

I hear voices in the night
Calling, calling from distant shores
Winter winds cool my body and awaken
my inner spirit
I cannot put these feelings into rhyme
But after a brief glimpse
of my inner space
Let scoffers beware!
There will come a time when they
shall be exposed
as I view the winds
which will blow away sorrow
as they have in the past
and as they will in the future
Distant shores are reaching out to us
and we must respond!
