Gosh, Francine, your "blue" contest is filling up in record time. I've seen so many great entries. You've given all of us some terrific inspiration and the tanka form is such a joy to use. Have fun judging these entries. I bet the contest will close today! And I have been reminding folks to check your rules. They're so simple; it befuddles me to think they aren't being followed precisely, but people are making corrections. Have a great day! Love, Carolyn

Francine, your poem paints a picture for the mind's eye for the sky, forest and lake. Good job. BTW, thanks for commenting on my Tale of Tails. I realize that Rottweilers are treasured pets by some owners. Sorry to cast a bad light on them

Your lovely description sounds like the view a friend of mine had from a home in New Hampshire. She lived on a mountain surrounded by trees but there was a lake in the valley below and the sun used to shine on it making the setting so peaceful. Michael's contest is allowing us to get to know other poets better by seeing their surroundings through their eyes. Best wishes in the contest, Francine. Love, Carolyn
