Distance

He wakes up on this new day
Never has he felt this way
A funeral in the gang
The person went out with a bang.

It was his initiation
He went in without a commotion
Put the gun against her head
Pulled the trigger now she’s dead,

Full of drugs he had to do it
He wanted to join the gang, to get it
He runs for the toilet
Because he needs to vomit

From a young boy
He always wanted a gun not a toy
To join the gang, he had to kill a man
Full of drugs and booze
he knows there is no time to lose

Not knowing who he killed
Because he was full of pills
He feels very good
He got it right to shoot

As part of the gang
He has right to feel like a real man
His place he truly earned
Without getting burned

Slowly he gets dressed
He does not feel blessed
Funerals are always sad
This one is going to be very bad.

It is a very foggy morning
In the distance a figure appears
The person he killed
Was someone, that was his shield

Now he is attending the funeral
She was so close to him
She was none other
than his own Mother.
