Disrobing ego

                 Line of Inquiry
"to veil light we cloaked it in bliss
then intellect and lower mind
fused together as magnetism
in form where truth we seek to find"

                    Disrobing ego

He wore a dress of fire with a crown of pride,
hissing demons tucked in the folds of his sleeves.
Stone smile on his face, a curled and bitter heart,
hiding the light of truth beneath dark forces.

He conquered kingdoms with the lie of hypocrisy,
and called himself the king of all the world.
Fame and glory fed the greed inside his soul,
his only prayer was to his solo desire.

When the command came: _bow_, he turned to ash.
God’s will was light, but he chose the flame.
He refused to bend to Adam made of clay,
for “I, me, myself” was all he could proclaim.

He raged at the mirror when it showed his face —
a reflection stripped of crown and loud applause.
Where titles die and glory turns to dust,
the ego stands naked without a cause.

And there, beyond the fire and prideful claim,
light stood high and truth was called by name.
Disrobed of ego, the soul at last could see:
surrender is the door where light goes free.

Yes all those who hunger for power and riches will be brought low. Your final lines were most profound. Good luck in this contest. I sure hope I can find time to try this one and do it as creatively

Dear Ink Empress, Your kindness disrobes my own doubt. To know that _“surrender is the door where light goes free”_ found a home in your heart — that is the true reward. Grateful for your light, today and always.God bless you and pray for you:)
