Dismantling the Devour

Every day, I’m thriving, By God’s grace, I’m surviving. Yet, doubts whisper I’ll derail, And once more, I’m in a spiritual jail. I learned I can achieve it all, But failure’s not my inner call. It’s a seed sown by the defeated, A lie that keeps being repeated. The harder I strive, the deeper the strife, I reflect on this grip that shadows my life. Then it dawns on me, a curse I must fight. Which ancestor of mine Forged a pact not of my design, That spans through generations, Was it in willingness or indignation? I pray and fast, yet it returns anew, The church elders joined in agreement too. I’ve sought deliverance to cast out the strife, But still, these demons haunt my life. Malevolence, stagnation, rejection, and their kin, I believed I was free, yet another demon crept in. The Bible warns, if your house being swept clean, The spirits return, fierce and keen. I rack my brain, praying with dread, What did I do, that lifted the lid, Unleashing the malevolent, Continually filling me with dread? What am I doing to open the door to unwelcome guests, They creep and crawl like sinister pests. I must dress in my armor of salvation now, to erase the past of former generations, somehow. God has called me to the fight, I must lace up your spiritual shoes tight. Recruited by God to set captives free, To demolish the evil over my family. Now I pray without ceasing, casting out with intent, against the malignant spirit That was hell region sent. I am guarding my life from those who seek entry. Though I wonder why God chose someone timid like me, My heart rejoices for He granted me victory. Just as the thief stood by Jesus’s side, I too shall join Him in eternal life.

Hey girl, sorry I missed this one. Yes, the battle is engaged. We win some, lose some. Even Paul acknowledged his inner struggle. Immorality, spiritism, drugs, these and more are practices that open the door to the unwelcomed. Hang in there kiddo
