Cutting spending seems simple on paper. It's just number manipulation. While spending reductions do not affect the lives of plutocrats who live in secure bunkers and travel in helicopters, private jets, and mega yachts; cuts significantly affect ordinary people and the poet class.

DOGE boys Musk and Ramaswamy
Box their cold cuts with pastrami
They soon will behold
While napkins can fold
Budgets are not origami

Woah you absolutely amazed with this clever limerick, dear Duke ~ it's your forte! And yes that last line "budgets are not origami" really caught my attention with its wise intentions haha... Indeed, budget is not something just to be moulded on a piece of paper with immense manipulation and treachery. You've described that political situation in such an impactful way! I apologize. Most liberals seemed to like Musk because of the electric car. I guess they don't travel the far back roads of America where being stranded can mean the end.

Thanks Hilda. His companies have some impressive technology. In all honesty I don't recall supporting the way he acts or the way he treats people. If you find something where I said otherwise, please point me to it. I would actually like to see that. He certainly has turned the car industry on its heels. They didn't invest smartly in new technology and are suffering heavily for it now. I'm not a big fan of going to Mars either, and I shall also pass on that adventure.

Haha thats a brilliant line! “ budgets are not origami” how do you come up with such different ways to express. They use budget as an excuse to make things harder for normal citizens and i understand that. Completely! I really love the art youv generated for this haha clever! Thanks IE, yes we are all watching and will be. The other rhyme I didn't use was with "tsunami." That will be coming at some point as people get fed up with what's about to happen. Hope I'm wrong! Also wishing you the best Christmas and New Year. You are an incredible poet!!

I hear you Duke, and though I am not into politics, these elites are all power hungry. Though on the plus side, somewhere along the way there is some good spread. They keep it secret. I guess, how many people they help. Maria, thanks so much for being here and the kind words. I hope you have a great Christmas and New Year as well. You have your priorities in order from what I can see. There are many kind people who have money and some do great work helping others. On the other hand, some are selfish egotists who think their wealth gives them the right to establish a religious-based white supremacist state that serves their own interests and ignores our shared planetary welfare. We'll see a lot of very interesting things happen over the next few years. Smiles!

Anne-Lise, we have more than a few billionaires who think they know what the world needs. In a way, they think they are our new gods. We should bow down to their wishes. Very strange happenings here.

It seems like a strange phenomenon to anyone who believes in any kind of equality or shared universality. Your wishes for the holidays and new year are very much appreciated. Thanks Nette. Humor is one thing we use to show off how ridiculous politics has become in the grips of the media system we have. The lack of empathy from the mega rich will lead to some very strange happenings and at least we can still make fun of them.

I dont know who Ramaswamy is, but I am not a big fan of Musk... he seems like a megalomaniac lost in his own ego... but so many with money are.. no wonder so many are leaving 'X.' He also seems like a bit of fascist.. no wonder he gets on with Trump.. Another great limerick my friend..

SO, yes I just posted it a few minutes ago. Vivek Ramaswamy is an entrepreneur who founded Roivant--an offshore company that buys patents and brings drugs to market. He's worth about a billion bucks. He ran against Trump for president but didn't get very far. Now they're friends and he has Trump's ear. He's on Trump's unofficial budget advisory committee with Musk as a junior partner since he's kinda poor.
