Discernment

Discernment The tears behind my eyes The feelings in my heart The frustrated thoughts I’m thinking The war I’d love to start The quiver in my stomach The tremble in my hand I can’t hide my perplexity For I just don’t understand And all of this created The sadness in my soul The anger that is teasing The situation as a whole It’s the pounding hurt I feel Disappointment, unbelief My contributions were much more Than what I now receive But feelings should not be allowed To stray and have their way So let me quickly bite my tongue And gulp what I would say Discernment is virtue Though it’s tough, to say the least But if temptation wants to tackle me Then I’ll show her who is beast.
