Dis-And-Able In One Body
Living within this one body
is a person able to speak
but also one who is not
stammering making one so weak
Many a disability is plain to see
but this one is not so clear
be silent and nobody notices
thinking you're able not a tear
There within emotions tangled
but later an other person's there
one looking confident and cool
other battling to remain it's not fair
People so unfriendly to one of you
the other one they think you're top
not able to be completely one
one's caged within the other not
But remember think of others
indeed worse off than you
unable maybe to walk see or talk at all
at least your one half is able to do
Stammering is a monster
disabling you from within
but fighting back you are able
as divine strength helps you win
AUTHOR NOTES:
Having had a stammer all my life of 60 years but in recent years have came to
realise there's two persons in this body, one who stammers and the other who
speaks normal , at least some of the time so this poem is written from my
perspective of being two persons living within the one body, one disabled the
other able.
