Dirty Laundry

Time to do this dirty laundry
Garments stained with the red of earth
Wines and berries on the fabric
A foul smell leaps over the clothes
Some of these made me itch
Flies make mountains of my garments
Their new terrains to explore.

I never enjoyed doing the laundry
I hate the rough rub of jeans on my hands
And the smell of onion sweat
Oh and the dirty water that remains
Then I have to wait on the wind
To blow away all of the water
And finally I can step out in them, unashamed.

Glad to know you meant this metaphorically!

Oh, my to do it all by hand would really be difficult. For me , this would be metaphorical . I really enjoy seeing this poem, and to imagine having to do laundry this way!!

Thanks for stopping by Andrea! The poem is not about actual laundry though....
