Dinosaurs and Grandparents

"...as old as you, grandma ?"
when I take my grandson to the museam

How old I must seem to him
I think: if I put my foot over
the dinnosaur's I'd move
in the same direction

What do children know about pain
in the bones of the old,
or how far they risk walking alone ?
When my husband and i walk
so close together even the wind can't
get in, it's because we feel everything
under us moving

in the silence of the night
I hear the earth turn
It's then I make the connection
