Notes About The Poem

 

Diminishing Minds

“Yesterday” We could write each other a
“Worldly script” From the heart,
“Today” We have our fears
When pondering “Where to tomorrow”
Our “Two worlds colliding” As the
“Thread” Of our lives bares its soul
In “Thoughts of you”. We ask each other
Is this “The way it use to be?”
When trying to dwell in “Memories”
Oh so insecure. “Love is” We still believe
Never will it be just “A long distant dream.”
So we live on in “Hope”
Cling to a time “From there to here”
Revel with the “Ghost of an achievement”
Till it is time for us to be “At the final goodbye”.

I once cared for a woman who couldn't remember her husband's name or her marriage, but she absolutely knew she loved him and had 'forever' so she said, she just couldn't remember why.
