Did You See Me As I Saw You?

Memories come alive of childhood days gone past When at day’s end I’d lie in bed, at last The house was quiet on those moonlit nights We’d gaze so amazed at the glorious sight A gigantic ball hanging in mid night blue skies! Like a Chinese lantern, by invisible strings hung As noisy crickets sing their shrill song Fireflies in the garden played hide and go seek While little girls and boys found it hard to fall asleep Their curious minds filled with questions so deep I believed truly, that there was a man in the moon Who in recline like I, would be off to bed soon Who delayed sleep each night to hear the tired sighs And share imagined tales of adventures in space Bringing warm smiles to brighten a little face Then slowly behind a cloud, he’d peek with one sleepy eye! When suddenly a brilliant shooting star would whiz on by Excitement reigned for a while as sleepy eyes roamed the sky “Man in the moon, today I ask of you- Did you see me back then as I saw you?"

awww, love this magical and innocent poem, my dear friend. I also believed there was a man in the moon and we sang a song about him playing on his ladel, at school. Much love to you and Andrea. xxx

Hi there Jack! Thanks for reading this...I also recall that song about the man in the moon!!! It went like this: 'There was a man who lived in the moon, lived in the moon, lived in the moon.... and his name was Aiken Drum! And he played upon a ladel.....' That takes me far back. Letter to follow asap. Lots of love always!

Smile ~ Aside from "This Beautiful Poem" being a favourite of mine dear lovely lady; one of "The Most Beautiful Poems" I have "Ever" read; I find perhaps a common thought amid "Its Splendorous Verse" in that, I too have Always seen "The Man In The Moon" but more than just a man for, "It Is 'My Father In Heaven I See!!!'" ~ And also, "It Is 'Jesus Christ' I Have 'Always' Seen Within 'The Sun!!!'" ~ ....Cont:)

Smile ~ I believe that "He" did "Dear, 'Beautiful Audrey Carey'" for, I am quite certain that "He Saw 'The Beauty Inside of Your Wonderous Eyes" & smiled at the tought of "Such An Innocent & 'Beautiful Child" that one day would become, "One Of 'The Most Beautiful Ladies' Within, The Entire World; 'Deep Inside, Her Beautiful Heart & Soul!!!'" ~ "Hello Again, 'Dear Beautiful & Lovely Lady!!!'" ~ ....Cont:)

Hon, when the man in the moon looked down and saw you, I'm sure he smiled! This is a delightful reflection of a child's perception of the man in the moon. Like you, I used to believe there was someone living up there when I was very young. Excellent use of rhyme and images should produce a winner for you! Love, Carolyn
