Diamond In the Rust
Glowing
Brightly
In the morning sun
A little boy
Picks it up
Cleans it off by using his shirt
Holds it to the sun
And it twinkles
He just got lucky
Being a diamond in the rust
Finally happy for once
After issues with his family
Telling him being gay
Is a disgrace
Just one moment
Changes his mind from running away
He has to stick it out
Like this diamond
Surrounded my dirt
Still shining
He has to be his own diamond
Has to shine through the dirt and the crap
Brush himself off
And stand under the sun so God can see him shining
