Dialogue With My Shadow
Me: "Have you ever pondered the shadows of why you exist?"
Shadow: Because you wanted a friend who was not a gist?
Me: I value your bond while aiming to be alone.
Shadow: Yes, I hope you'd agree, you lack a hand sans bone?
Me: You responded, but it was needless.
Shadow: You wanted to vent without feeling helpless.
Me: You appear most vivid in direct sunlight.
Shadow: Yes, I believe that when I am having the most delight.
Me: You were in a never-ending need to talk.
Shadow: You didn't stop going because you would walk.
Me: When it's dark outside, I truly miss you.
Shadow: It's when I'm with you the most. All is dark and true.
Me: So many thoughts for this pondering ear.
Shadow: But I'm only a shadow that can't even hear.
Me: After barring my soul, I awaited a reply.
Shadow: Again, I'm a shadow, so I can't say for sure why.
Me: It is difficult to be on your own in this world.
Shadow: Yet, in your company, I feel safe in my household.
