Dewdrops
The moonlight kisses me tenderly
On my cheeks, wobbling gingerly
I cling on to those sturdy blades
Of grass or leafy shades
I am born of the perspiration
Of the dawns persuasion
Of the earth’s morning equation
That glow on my cheeks
Put there by the sun as it sneaks
Over the horizon, and daintily peeks
It is awfully lovely when you
Have the wind as your friend
He gently nudges and picks me up
And drops me into a flower cup
That’s open to bloom, making me giddy
As she opens her petals and spreads her perfume!
