I'm a parched desert
that longed for you
desperately
while you were away for miles;
now suddenly here you are!
you've returned to me, at last.
your smile and skin glistening
before my sore eyes.
hosanna!
you're the cloudburst
to heal the drought within me
and I'm more than thirsty!
my true, I needn't fall down
on my knees
and beg
to devour you whole,
to engulf you
like a hungry abyss!
