Devoid of Compassion
“When yesterdays become devoid of compassion”
I would wake up with blurred vision
Unable to fulfill a noble mission
Around apathy, marked by pride’s oppression…
When such happens midst love’s absence
I would lament with guilt in chaotic silence
Having allowed myself to rule along selfish license
In the guise of caring attitude’s prevalence…
When that scenario lingers of no charity glow
I would pray to God for His blessings' flow
Since His “compassions fail not”* today and tomorrow
Letting life to triumph against challenges’ woe.
*Lamentations 3:22-23 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness.
