Destiny

Destiny is dandelions,
He loves me, he loves me not,
Flying far away to get shot,
Falling ferociously to rot.

Dead shot love bird
Would have been better if it had joined a herd.

The wings don't bling anymore,
Love is a flight but what for?
The bird is on fire,
Her lover was a liar,
Life turned into a satire.

Love starts as a dandelion that can sprout even in adverse terrains. But its life is short. It can wither too soon and drift away with the wind. I enjoyed your analogy and the rhyming pattern you have used here. Send you love and all blessings of Easter.

I love how this starts with the fragile hope of love and then shifts to betrayal. I love the flow of the poem too. Kindest Regards, Christina. :)

Dearest Anne, The shift from the botanical to the biological with the "dead shot love bird" is a powerful way to illustrate a betrayal. By the time I reach the line "Life turned into a satire," the poem feels like it has stripped away all the romantic illusions of fate. Destiny isn't a grand plan, but a series of crashes where the "wings don't bling anymore" and the flight itself becomes pointless. I like how you are bringing out more of you. You are developing more into an expressive poetess who lives in her poem. Blessings, Dear Anne, Daniel

' dandelions, he loves me, he loves me not. ' Such a delicate way to begin, however, I had no idea this is the way it would end. Your thoughts hold many moments and emotions, my dear sweet friend. Many wonderful blessings to you. Hugs, Brandy
