Desire

Desire in the night is like
Rain splashing upon your face
Thunder coming down from the sky
It comes when you least expect it
Forcing you down to the ground.

Though you embrace it like
There will be no tomorrow
The desire that fills your very
Soul is like a burning inferno.

There is no space or time
Swimming in your emotions
You are lost to the outside world
Every breath is burning with desire

It's like it has swallowed you up
And once more you are consumed
By the fire with desire in your heart.

Interesting and yes, desire is a very strong emotion. It tends to take over and intrude upon our very existence. I suppose it is normal. If you mean the desire to have sex or bond with someone, for example, I think you are correct. To a lesser extent the desire to do something constructive sometimes overcomes me, but not as often as the primitive feelings.

this one really captures that feeling of desire, all consuming and passionate. Good one!

Nice descriptiveness in this presentation. One item needs correction in the last line of your second verse: replace "infernal" with "inferno". The word "infernal" is an adjective" while "inferno" is a noun.

Perhaps you will like to correct the typing error of the title of the poem
