Desert's Sunset Heavens Lights

i travel three-and-a-half hours
for peace of mind
leave the city dwellers
worship our Mother Earth's kind
She takes my breath away
A trail, I take my hike
"Who walked this path?" I say
as dusk draws near
a dance with the rays
the sky, the clouds
amber and red hues
an a fading blue canvas
my mind blends in
top of a ridge
breathing hard
sweet smell of sage
my mind at ease
one with the earth
desert's sunset
heaven's lights
