Good rhyme, but, like you, I fail to see the humour in it! It is but a common path to more violence on earth . . . .

Thanks, Rico. It's good to know that I'm not the only one!

Nothing kills a gag like trying to explain it but I wonder if, in a world where people join the taliban to crush the infidel or to attain local or national power and recognition, joining up to get away from the missus just kinda strikes at the funny bone. Just a thought. At any rate, it made me grin. Terry

Thanks, Terry. That's the best explanation I've heard so far. I appreciate your thoughtful response.

Maybe you can explain it to me. Yes, I wrote it, but I have no idea why so many think it is funny!

I'd say, Vie. I didn't understand it myself...it just rhymed and seemed to fit!

So very well expressed, you captured a wonderful scene and turned it into a great limerick Milton. Blessings and regards

Well, I was sort of proud that she refused the veil! Thanks, Lasaad.

You know, gw, I'm still trying to figure out what's so funny about this limerick, but several people seem to think it is. I'm glad she refused the veil...and it was enough for him to run off and join the Taliban????

Thanks, Alexis. Would someone explain to me why this is so funny? Truthfully, I wrote it, but I didn't think it was particularly funny. I just thought it was authentic!
