Desert Dreams
Illuminations in the distant land
reveal the delicate desert rose
as she twinkles to show her worth.
And warmer days of yesteryear
blow balmy breezes speaking
love through nature's sounds
of buzzing bees and hummingbird wings,
while a melody of wooden pan flutes
with the tiniest tinkling of chimes
loft into the tepid Fall air to bask
in an array of colors amongst
the backdrop of an Arizona sunset.
Intermittent values of
magenta, violet, and indigo
paint the vast sky but only
when the moonbeam's dream
that the darkest of night will shine.
Then dawn breaks and a thin veneer
of tiny water droplets on blue juniper berries
glisten and dance while the stars tumbling
to Mother Earth distribute multifaceted
fragments reflective in a desert dream.
