Descent and Ascent

On an as is where is basis we tread,
Tempted take a plunge into lust and desires,
A descent of soul into illusions so persuasive,
Wrapped in the veil of the world's pretense.
Through shadows of matter, we stumble and strain,
Chasing illusions, forgetting the pain.
Yet whispers of truth, like a soft-spoken muse,
Sing through the silence, their light to diffuse.
And so we ascend, from the depths to the skies,
Bearing love’s cross, where true wisdom lies.
Higher than heights we once dared to dream,
Carving a path through life's shifting stream.
Truth won’t descend to meet the lowly vale,
It bids us rise where courage must prevail.
Through shadowed paths and cliffs that pierce the skies,
We climb to where eternal wisdom lies.
Each fall a lesson, each rise a grace,
A spiral of growth in this infinite space.
For in the descent, we learn to align,
With the call of the heart, both human, divine.
