Dereliction of Duty

Your searching eyes were looking elsewhere when the storm clouds came rolling in They coveted someone else's treasured heart You didn't warn me of the danger looming on the near horizon Furthermore, you didn't even tell your best friend Angry dark skies reveal your hidden buried lies I was sold a shipment of counterfeit art But this fake portrait of yourself was the most damning piece of all All this time, I thought you really did care This relationship is shipwrecked, there's nothing more to say Your dereliction of duty put our love in harm's way Roiling turbulent skies swiftly caught me by surprise, as you abandoned this sinking relationship And every captain who's set out to sea accept the consequences of neglect fully So must I now, standing on the prow, with regrets drowning words of forgiveness trapped in sealed lips This relationship is shipwrecked, all hope got tragically castaway It was your dereliction of duty, your uncaring neglect that doomed us, and put our once buoyant love in harm's way

Freddie, this one hit me hard. I decided to take some me time the day you wrote this. After I read this, I asked for forgiveness and set out to duty. Much appreciation my friend.

Well I am happy for you, Steven. Some things are too important to let slide. I learned this hard lesson myself. It is I who is the one that caused the relationship to end in this poem. Much love to you, my dear friend.

Ty for the too kind words, Rick. It is just the spirit within, my friend. I know you know what I'm talkin' about. As for how many muses, wow, I honestly don't know. I expressed this in my poem "Prodigy." Much love to you, bruh.
