Derby Day
Here we are in the spring month of May.
It’s late afternoon on the month’s first Saturday.
Lo and behold, we have another Derby Day.
The annual Running of the Roses takes place today.
At Churchill Downs racetrack in old Kentucky,
several thousand spectators are hoping to get lucky.
Whether they are betting for a win, place, or show,
the first horse crossing the wire is what they would like to know.
Horse racing holds no interest for me.
I have much better uses for my money.
