Derailed

A delayed train 
     and uncooperative weather 
derailed his plans 
to seek forgiveness 
     for his mistake 

now, nerves frayed 
cold rain 
  hammers down  
     his best suit and shoes 
         no longer pristine
his floral apology crumpled
  
just one disaster after another
