Depths of You
tonight as we sit here
on the banks of the creek
the opalescent light of moon
slips momentarily
beneath a cloud
and i am swept
in the depths of you
night's breath is rising
then falling delicately
across my almost bare skin
i shiver beneath the warmth
of your tender touch
as it mingles in
i see the flicker of stars
reflecting back from your eyes
and i am lost somewhere
between the folds of darkness
and love's empathetic hold
the incandescent light of the moon
casts a shadow atop the water
that dances in the ebb and flow
alluring me further in the depths
i am swept away
expeditiously by its current
i arch my back and surrender
beneath its force
captive like the moon
within her sky
my reflection emerges
equally full
