Depression Ruined Me

as a little girl I was happy
so careless and free
then depression came and ruined me
I can't hide any longer
I want to go back
to the times where I could be
be myself, so careless and free

I then found a razor and made my first cut
it wasn't deep but I could not stop
the days are now longer
and my nights, I can't sleep
when oh when will somebody rescue me

I picked up the blade and made a few slits
I watched the blood drip as my life fell to bits
could you imagine a world so dark and cruel
one where happiness is a crime and death can rule

soon I will go
scars and all
I'll be happy for once
I'm just waiting for the call

Good poem from the heart... one we get that call... we'll be asked to account for our life to justify we didn't waste it. At one point we all realize that we need to leave the world a better place in whatever way we can. I think you have a lot to offer people, especially kids maybe, who deal with bullying and low self-esteem. Good luck and I hope you reach out to find the people who desperately need your help.

Hello Daisy I have been reading my way through some of your work . It says Bio so I presume you are writing about your own personal experience. Its very dark and very honest m You are exposing and opening yourself up here. I hope you find it Cathartic and are using it as a positive

Very sad but well written, keep it up, if you want more readers you might need to vary the theme, almost all I've read is about cutting and suicide, so not everyone likes to read depressing things, it's good for therapy maybe, but it's good to branch out to other subjects, maybe try a contest! Hope your day is better!

Maybe the sun will come out for you and then you can move forward into the light. Hope it brightens up for you. x
