Depression

a life of events can drive you,
to a point in life,
when darkness hangs,
in the corners of your mind,
it grows slowly over time,
until it consumes your mind,
it takes the person you once knew,
and turns her into someone new,
the new person you may not like,
because she's always putting up a fight,
she longs to get back to being herself,
but the darkness has a firm hold,
she longs for it to let go,
she may need her friends to help,
find her show her the way,
for she can no longer stay this way,
she needs you to fight,
alongside her,
she needs you to hold her hand,
and hold on tight,
because she never knows,
when it's going to be alright,
so always be there,
to lead a hand,
try and help them to understand,
that depression is an illness,
they may not understand.

I understand this completely Davina. Hope you are fighting on, and know that you're definitely not alone. I still read your poetry and think about you.<3 Always, Laura
